About Prayer and Why Use God's Words

Prayer is more than speaking our own words to God—it is learning to align our hearts with His. When we pray using God’s Word, we are speaking truth, faith, and Scripture back to the One who gave it. This page explores why praying the Bible matters, how God’s words shape our prayers, and why Scripture-based prayer brings clarity, strength, and deeper trust in Him.

Growing In Prayer

Most that were raised Christian, as a child you were started with praying at meals asking the Lord to bless the food. From there you had your bed time prayer and at the end of that ask the Lord to bless each person named within the family. From there for myself then taught to memorize the Lord's Prayer given by Yeshua (Jesus):

Matthew 6:9-13 (KJV) After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name. Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread. And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. Amen.

From there it was the memorizing of the 23rd Psalm The Lord Is My Shepherd and basically watching hearing others pray. They sometimes would mention scriptures but in this day and age it was always Paul's words from the Epistles of Paul not words out of the mouth of God but words from a man. Then as I got older being in the Gospels for myself there would be times of Yeshua's words really impacting me this one specifically Matthew 4:4 (KJV) But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

It took years and my prayer life still is changing and I realize that more with scriptures I have for putting on this site new things even for me, so we continue to grow if we stay in Yeshua's words and the out of the mouth of God. As far as Yeshua's words well He told us Matthew 28:18 (KJV) And Jesus came and spake unto them, saying, All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth.

Why Use God's Words

Faith in the words spoken makes a difference. I don't believe in things I just say verses using God or Jesus's words it is very easy for me to believe it will happen. So it is a faith and belief in the word that also makes a difference. I know that I know that if God said it, it will happen. I am just asking that it happen for the person, nation, or people I am praying for. I already have confidence that if God said it then it will happen and that it is the will of God. So I am praying according to His will. Even James pointed out that we have not because we ask amiss. James 4:3 (KJV) Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts.

Conclusion

My prayer is that the prayers within this site be a blessing and encourage focus on the Lord and His words That the Lord guide and direct you with your prayers also seeking what God said about things asking for them for others. I pray you draw close to Yeshua and that His words abide in you that we reach this place Yeshua spoke of. John 14:23 (KJV) Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. That by doing this you reach this point in your prayer life: John 15:7 (KJV) If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.
